As Tsuguko to both Kanae and Shinobu Kocho, Kanao is an exceptionally refined swordswoman who fights with Flower Breathing and possesses remarkable dynamic vision that lets her predict and react to attacks with uncanny speed. Her skill is considered close to Hashira-level, and she plays a pivotal role in the fight against Doma during the Infinity Castle assault.

Kanao is a petite young woman with dark hair tied into a side ponytail with a butterfly ornament and distinctive lilac eyes. She wears the Demon Slayer uniform along with a modified haori reflecting her ties to the Kocho family.

Emotionally suppressed after an abusive childhood, Kanao originally could not make decisions for herself and relied on a coin flip until Tanjiro's encouragement helped her express genuine feelings. She is quiet and reserved but deeply devoted to Kanae and Shinobu, the sisters who took her in.
