Tanjiro's mother is a gentle-faced woman seen in flashback bundled in modest kimono against the mountain cold, often surrounded by her younger children.

Warm, nurturing and endlessly hardworking, she raised six children alone after her husband's death, teaching Tanjiro the family's kindness and the Hinokami Kagura dance passed down through the household.
