Sumi had no fighting ability; as one of the elder Shinazugawa daughters she helped care for her younger siblings during their difficult upbringing.

Sumi is a small, light-skinned girl with a low bun of dark hair and large blue round eyes, bearing a strong resemblance to her mother Shizu. She wears a long light red kimono tied with an orange obi.

Warm and caring like her siblings, Sumi shielded her youngest brother from witnessing their father's violent outbursts and worried deeply when their mother failed to return home one night.
