Sumiyoshi Kamado

Hinokami Kagura

A coal burner by trade centuries before the main story, Sumiyoshi was taught the Hinokami Kagura dance directly by Yoriichi Tsugikuni after the swordsman saved his family from a demon. He passed the ceremonial fire dance down through his bloodline, where it would eventually resurface as Tanjiro's Hinokami Kagura breathing style generations later.

Sumiyoshi looks remarkably like an older, unscarred Tanjiro, sharing his descendant's facial structure, eyes, and hair color, though he wears his hair longer in a ponytail. He dresses in a white nagajuban beneath a black-checkered kimono nearly identical in design to Tanjiro's own haori.

Kind, generous, honest, and humble, Sumiyoshi shares striking personality parallels with his distant descendant Tanjiro, treating strangers and friends alike with warmth.
