Suyako has no combat ability; she is remembered as the loving wife of Sumiyoshi Kamado and an ancestral matriarch of the Kamado family, centuries before Tanjiro's birth.

Suyako is a petite young woman with long black hair curving in below her shoulders, and wide black eyes fading to pale pink toward the bottom of the iris. She wears a plain purple-toned kimono with a white cloth tied around her head.

Cheerful and hardworking, Suyako always strives to do her best for her children and shows genuine care for others, comforting a weeping Yoriichi with the offer of a home-cooked meal and delighting in watching him perform his Sun Breathing forms.
