As Muichiro Tokito's dedicated swordsmith, Tetsuido forged and maintained the Mist Hashira's Nichirin sword, and offered him quiet emotional counsel until his death during the Swordsmith Village attack.

Tetsuido is an elderly, wrinkled, skinny man with long white hair reaching past his neck, wearing a hyottoko mask, a long dark green haori, baggy black pants, and light gray slippers, often seen smoking.

Gentle and perceptive, Tetsuido was one of the few people, alongside Kagaya Ubuyashiki, able to see through Muichiro Tokito's stoic front, and he took genuine pride in serving as the young Hashira's personal swordsmith.
