Yuichiro was a civilian woodcutter's son with no combat training; his death shortly before Muichiro could join the Demon Slayer Corps left a lasting void that shaped his twin brother's detached, memory-scarred personality.

Yuichiro is a short boy with straight waist-length hair fading from raven-black to turquoise, worn loose with two side clumps and unruly bangs. He shares his twin brother Muichiro's large turquoise eyes and wears a sleeveless black yukata patterned with light blue mist.

Cold and skeptical, Yuichiro dismissed compassion as pointless, criticizing his late father's fatal effort to gather medicine for their dying mother and rejecting Muichiro's wish to become a Demon Slayer to help others. His bitterness stemmed from the grief of losing both parents in quick succession.
