A master swordsmith of the Swordsmith Village who forges Tanjiro's Nichirin blade; not a fighter, but his startling physical intensity when defending his work — chasing slayers down with his forging tools — has become a running legend among the Corps.

Always seen with his face fully hidden beneath a woven straw hood, dressed in traditional smithing garb over a wiry, restless frame.

Fiery, obsessive and quick to anger, he flies into furious, chisel-swinging rages whenever a Demon Slayer damages or fails to protect one of his painstakingly forged blades, but is otherwise singularly devoted to his craft.
