Impostor, shown on screen as The Demon Among Us, is a quick-fire odd-one-out game for Demon Slayer fans. Every board shows five character portraits. Four of them share something in common, and one does not. The catch is that the game never tells you what the shared trait is: you have to work out the category and spot the impostor at the same time.

The categories come straight from the series: Hashira, members of the Demon Slayer Corps, demons, the Twelve Kizuki, breathing style users, blood demon art users, the Kamado family, characters who debuted at Final Selection, the deceased, characters with an awakened form, and more. Where a demon slayer dle asks you to guess the Demon Slayer character from a column of clues, Impostor hands you the characters and asks what they have in common, which makes it one of the quickest ways to test how well you really know the cast.

How to Play Impostor

Under the question Who doesn't belong?, tap the character you think is the impostor. Get it right and you score a point, your streak grows, and the next board appears immediately. There is no waiting between rounds, so the pace keeps rising as you settle in.

The daily run is a two-minute score attack, and the boards are dealt in the same order for everyone that day. A wrong tap normally ends the run and shows you who the impostor was and which category you missed. You also have one spare life each day: miss while you hold it and the clock pauses while you decide whether to spend it and continue with a fresh board.

After the daily run and its life are used, two Classic runs unlock for the day. Classic has no timer and one extra life per run. It still feeds your stats and XP, but only the daily run goes on the daily leaderboard. Everything resets at midnight UTC.

Tips for Spotting the Demon Among Us

Check the broad splits first. Are four of them demons and one human? Are four wearing the Corps uniform? Species and affiliation give you the answer on most boards within a second, and they are the categories you will see most often.

When the obvious splits fail, move to the finer ones. Four characters might all use a breathing style while one relies on a blood demon art, or four might be dead while one is still alive. Remember that Nezuko is a demon who belongs to the Corps and uses a blood demon art, so she can be the impostor or one of the four depending on the category.

Beware of boards where two traits seem to work. The impostor is only guaranteed to fall outside the chosen category, so if one answer fits two patterns, ask which category would leave exactly one character out, and tap that one. Speed matters on the clock, but a wrong tap costs far more than a second of thought.
