This recap covers only content adapted in the anime through the Infinity Castle Part 1 film (released September 2025). Infinity Castle Parts 2 and 3, and anything from the manga beyond that point, are intentionally excluded from this article and from every other part of KimetsuDle. If you have only watched the anime, everything below is safe to read.
Final Selection and First Mission
The story opens with Tanjiro Kamado returning home to find his family slaughtered and his sister Nezuko transformed into a demon. Trained by Sakonji Urokodaki, Tanjiro survives Final Selection on Mount Fujikasane, where he meets the spectral Sabito and Makomo and faces the Hand Demon. His first mission afterward, the Kidnapper's Bog case, gives him his Nichirin sword and its color-changing black blade.
Asakusa and Tsuzumi Mansion
In Asakusa, Tanjiro and Nezuko have their first direct brush with Muzan Kibutsuji, who does not yet recognise Nezuko as a demon under his control, and meet Tamayo and Yushiro, demons who defy Muzan from the shadows. The Tsuzumi Mansion arc introduces Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira properly as they team up against the drum-controlled demon Kyogai.
Mount Natagumo and Rehabilitation Training
Mount Natagumo pits the trio against Rui's twisted Spider Family, ending with the Corps' first real look at the Twelve Kizuki's brutality and the first appearance of two Hashira, Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho, in active combat. The Rehabilitation Training arc that follows introduces the wider Hashira roster at the Butterfly Mansion and gives Tanjiro his first real integration into the Corps' elite circle.
Mugen Train
The Mugen Train film (and its Season 2 recut) is the story's emotional turning point: Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, joins Tanjiro's group to investigate disappearances aboard a train controlled by the dream-manipulating Lower Moon One, Enmu. The arc escalates into a direct confrontation with Upper Moon Three, Akaza, and ends with one of the anime's most pivotal losses.
Entertainment District
Season 2's Entertainment District arc sends Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke undercover with Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui to investigate demon activity in Yoshiwara. The arc introduces the sibling Upper Moon Six, Gyutaro and Daki, and features Nezuko's first full Awakening in battle.
Swordsmith Village
Season 3 relocates the action to the hidden Swordsmith Village, where Tanjiro receives a new blade and joins Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji against Upper Moons Hantengu and Gyokko. The arc reveals more of Muzan's ruthlessness toward underperforming Kizuki and sets up the next season's stakes.
Hashira Training and Infinity Castle Part 1
Season 4's Hashira Training arc gathers the full Hashira roster to prepare the Corps for the coming confrontation with Muzan, while quietly setting up Kaigaku's reveal as Zenitsu's former sworn brother, now a demon. Infinity Castle Part 1 then launches the war proper: the Hashira and Muzan's strongest Kizuki collide inside his shifting fortress, with Tanjiro and Giyu facing Akaza, Shinobu confronting Doma, and Zenitsu meeting Kaigaku in a duel decades in the making.
That is exactly where the anime-canon boundary sits for KimetsuDle. Everything from this point forward remains unadapted territory.
